I aten't dead. *cough* Is anyone still watching this journal?
On opening this page, Tweak said "Who are YOU?", and I thought it seemed appropriate.

Surfacing from a year's re-set with a rather time-intensive job, with a business on the side (and by side, I mean evenings and Sundays, because every other day was at SuckJob), and I haven't drawn a thing since the crude toddlerscrawl that made it to the Snarry Games. Job's going away, and I might just have a little bit of my life back. It's a nice thought.

I still intend to finish things for people, fyi - Ravenna, for example, and one day maybe even the LLNM picture. Jeez. And I bombed out of a couple of fests, like a dick.

In the meantime, meet the Shoe Shine Boy, whose job is significantly worse job than mine (NWS):

Huh.
Yes, this is another one of those mini-posts of "oh hey, porn". This one's for the non-con squicky fans out there.

So, reading through a list of prompts, I spy something about a "dark/shadow veela". LOL, I hear you say (yes, spelling out the letters, you wonderful geeks :) ).

But, but, but. Okay. Yes, I know veela-fic tends to live only in the realm of hideous cheesy. But, see, if it's some kind of inverse veela thing, it's got repulsion on its side, not attraction, so, here I'm thinking that it's some kind of thing that feeds off/wants horror/fear/disgust (uh, evolutionary reason - because any critter needs to make some kind of sense - would be paralysis from fear or an overload that leads to fainting = easy prey), and isn't that an appealing start to a story?

Ooh, so, in a non-creature fic, Snape (for example) comes back from the Nagini bite all superfucked and a li'l bit twisted, and, because I like Snarry and Snaco and all sorts of similars, what if he's living in the Manor feeding off Draco (OR SCORPIUS EEE AND HE THINKS IT'S JUST A RECURRING NIGHTMARE) or some such thing, or has some kind of Auror!Harry encounter out in the wilds, yesyes? See? Pr0nz and ohfuck, ohfuck, get away from me now, don't fucking touch me, all mixed up together?

G'wan.

Who would like a picture, and to help out a lovely lady on my flist?
Okay, so this is unprompted, and I rather hope it doesn't piss her off ;). I'd be freakin' devastated to come home from a trip and find my house in such a state, so as a nod of sympathy toward [info]cluegirl, I'll offer a picture for dollars, with all money to go to her. Details, I'm sure can be worked out later - this is a lightning fast post before I run off to work.

Caveat - I'm slow. :).

Picture would be of the same style as my [info]snarry_games, so a fairly meaty, semi-painted look. Digital, but I'd provide it at a resolution and size that would work for print.

I'll do two.

How, you ask, will I choose? Suggest content, and suggest a good price over $100US, and I'll choose the two I think are most interesting :). Or the most expensive :p. You get until midnight, Saturday, NZ time ( check out this site and look for either Auckland or Wellington). Well, really you get about eight hours past that, because I'll probably sleep in on Sunday morning :).

Have at it. The lady at least needs books and a serious carpet cleaning :).

Please link if you can think of anyone who might be interested. Okay, gonna be late for work. *flees*

Repost of Snupin Santa picture, PG, possibly NWS
I scored [info]sweetmelodykiss for Snupin Santa, exclaimed delightedly, and promptly embarked on a plan for a fabulous epic spun from two of her prompts.

And then had to abandon it as RL proceeded to jump all over my free time, gleefully proclaiming, "Stop hitting yourself! Stop hitting yourself!" and other such gems.

So, she got a picture instead, and I gave Snape a bald head, and was in an agony of nerves over the choice. You see, Snape is nose-eyes-and-hair. Nose-eyes-and-hair, always. Dark eyes, big nose, dark hair. Frightfully dramatic combo. There is no fucking with this. Bald!Snape has done well for himself in fic (and if you haven't read the Snarry classic Home Fries Nazi, what the fuck??), but he was so goddamned ballsy there.

This is Snape who's had his hair removed, not by his choice. It stands, I guess, as something of a symbol. Stripped, if you will, clothes regardless. Snape often seems to be thought of as hiding behind his hair, and so I took it from him. Azkaban, behind them, is monochrome and searchlights. Remus holds Snape in the shadows, soft cloth, concealment. One hand almost covering Snape's head - clutching him, cradling him and covering him. See?

Thought she might well hate it. But, having made the choice, I couldn't bear to cover that vulnerable skull. Remus' hand is so much less significant with hair in the equation! Imagine, please, skin against skin, and the heat building underneath that palm, and thin skin between fingers and bone, the pulse of Remus' first two fingers against the pulse running through the veins in Snape's scalp, the way skin shifts and drags with the friction of fingerprints... Yeah. Couldn't do it.

Not a lot of colour in this one, either - muted, muffled. Again, soft shadows.

It's PG-ish for the evidence of mistreatment, possibly NWS because of Snape's bare back? Remus is more than a little MacGuyverish here. Which. Um. Not *entirely* by accident :). Something light, there, to counteract some of the stuff I couldn't keep from associating with Snape.

And here is the summary I made for the pic:

**
Remus Lupin is a practical man, and has planned his crime well. He dresses himself in dark colours that won't show up in the shadows, and practices until his wandwork is tight; perfect. When it comes to Severus Snape, however, Remus has always lost his sense of reason. Why else would he be watching the clock, waiting to begin the first real attempt to break a man out of Azkaban? Why else, instead of packing a dark blanket layered with dense warming charms, does he choose to transfigure one made from the combined yarn of every woolly jersey ever given to him by Molly Weasley? Some part of him associates these garments with love, warmth, and comfort, and so it is with a shrunken pile of soft rainbow fabric in his pocket that he sets out across the sea.

Another double drabble - Voldemort-centric
Slightly silly.

It was the worst blowjob in history. The man between his thighs grunted, slobbered, and occasionally let slip a pointed canine. This last at least interrupted the monotony.

Restless shifting from the crowd. Distracting.

Perhaps the masks were a mistake. Full regalia, while pleasantly ritualistic, allowed far too much opportunity to hide boredom. A few rounds of the Cruciatus curse would have improved the atmosphere immensely.

The fat, sweaty sod at his feet slipped again, and Voldemort suppressed a wince. His cock was going to require murtlap soaking at this rate.

Being the Dark Lord should not be so tedious.

**

This part of the ritual had seemed inspired when his followers were all young and delicious. Unfortunately, he needed the recruits badly enough that a selection process based on sexual appeal was entirely out of the question.

He held back a sigh, and resisted the urge to murder his unskilled new Death Eater.

Better to think of something else. The ritual required his semen, not his attention, and Lucius’ boy was surely old enough to take the mark.

Yes. He would be frightened, but compliant, and too terrified for even a hint of tooth.

Definitely an asset to the cause.

Okay, I have to admit that the purpleosity of this is actually making me laugh. Um. Quite a bit. So. Don't feel bad if you do too ;). OMG Lupin probably cuts himself in the bathroom whilst listening to mid-period Pink Floyd on vinyl. WHICH ONE'S PINK, LUPIN???

Obviously, as a double drabble, it's 200 words long. Darkish, I suppose, and PG-ish for sexual reference? Yes. All those small children on my flist, look away now. Eheh.

Gift for me!
You will all go now to read my lovely Yule Balls gift, please - it is a delight!

It is 3300 words, so short enough to enjoy without having to make an appointment, and it's lyrical and shot through with the most exquisite details.

It is also a delicious femslash rarepair - Fleur/Luna, with background Bellatrix/Luna - and is set during DH, at Shell Cottage.

Grey Skies Changing, by anonymous, NC-17, implied non-con (which, as a subtle thread, only serves to highlight the beauty, warmth and light of the present even more).

Gorgeous. Now with working link!

Incidentally. Ahem. Very belated happy birthday to [info]snegurochka_lee.

I'm not going to offer you a drawble of your choice. Instead, let's play a little game. Pick one from each line:

  • Boyslash/Femslash/Het
  • AU/Gen/Shagging
  • Leather/Metal/Silk
  • Air/Earth/Fire/Water
  • Daisies/Lilies/Roses
  • HP-past/HP-present/HP-future

And we'll see what comes up :).

Next, on Channel 2: When Fics Distract!!!
I've yet to figure out just what it is that'll keep me in a fic despite errors, when some mistakes will haul me right outta there.

It's jarring and distracting when an HP character says something like "Mom" or "normalcy". "Discrete" vs "discreet" usually makes me want to laugh a little, as does the lay/lie one, because it's either sneaky numbers, smiles/whispers that are doing something impossible, or eggs showing up when there should just be shagging or sleeping.

I cannot get past the image of Harry bloody Potter squatting on the bedcovers, popping out a great big egg. Or doing it in tandem with Snape ;).

"Come lay with me, Harry... we'll have an omelette for tea."

I was just reading something really very engaging, and the author made the error of using "lead on, Macduff" (in a "show me things" sense), rather than "lay on, Macduff" (the actual line, which means "attack"). SO distracting. I'm sure I'll go back to the story, as, like I said, very engaging, but I had to stop for a while because the error and resulting error of meaning was so distracting... and it's something the character should've known, too. argh. Okay, I'm gonna go back later on tonight and read more of it. It's not really my style, either, but the structure's too darned compelling.

    Damp blanket
So, I'm finding these exit poll results (via CNN) more interesting (though obviously, more narrow in focus) than the presidential one:

♦Arizona - projected to ban gay marriage
♦Arkansas - projected to disallow gay parents from adopting kids
♦California - too damned close on banning gay marriage and limiting abortion access. What the hell, California?
♦Florida - projected to ban gay marriage (at 99% counted)

    Slightly more upbeat, though:

♦Colarado - projected to not consider human life as occurring from the moment of conception (which, yes, technically, obviously it does, being something that's alive and something that's human, but that seems like double-speak for abortion restriction)
    ♦Michigan - allowing medical marijuana (A start, I guess) and stem-cell research
♦South Dakota - no on abortion restrictions (98% counted)
♦Washington - projected win for allowing doctor-assisted suicide, but only half the votes counted

    Bit depressing, overall.

Dahlinks, first the question, and I cannot yet tell you why. Favourite holiday in your country, or perhaps in someone else's?

I like Guy Fawkes (which is not so much a holiday as an event - those are fine too). The city council puts on a big fireworks display over the harbour. I can't see it from my house - there's a hill slap-bang in the way - but I know a few people who have houses with perfect views, so have been able to have a decent look. There are also handy office buildings with good views, too :). I love fireworks. Though I have the cat-owner's dislike of fireworks in the hands of individuals, because some bastard always lets them off on other nights of the year and freaks out the little monsters.

The drabble, whee. It's dialogue-only, and I decided that it's definitely Pansy, and probably Harry. It's a little femdom-ish, but in the way I like, which means there's no impractical footwear and no-one is called Mistress Lady Princess Doom of Rubberzonia. I guess it's PG for discussion of hurty-owies?

Anyway, a while back, someone (I think it was [info]sweetmelodykiss?) was talking about some pairings, and had written "Sirius/Mundungus" and I read it as "Sirius/Moody", and declared it entirely plausible. Because, hey. After Azkaban, Sirius isn't exactly a prize, and there's gotta be some kind of lingering hero-worship for Super Auror Moody (assuming it wasn't Moody who brought him down ;) ), and they're constantly interacting in Grimmauld, and why the hell not?

    Little ranty grumble.
    Argh.

Somebody, talk me into signing up for the [info]harry_holidays, would you? I started signing up (yay, fest that's not pairing-centric and can even be gen!) and got really irritated with the form.

Which pairing is your favourite? - er, anything done well. Character? Several.
Which pairing do you hate? - ah, also none. Character? I don't hate any of them - I just think Hagrid's a bit dim and fluffy.
How about other pairings you like - oh, anyone?
    Era? ALL
    Scenario? ANYTHING INTERESTING.

So I was kinda getting more and more frustrated as I went along. Plus, the sign-ups are screened, which is always a bummer, because it's fun in the lead-up to read through what folk want - and it almost always leads to me remembering something I want to add to my sign-up. Like for Yule Balls, I was reading the writer's signups, and it made me think to specify that I'd prefer not to illustrate someone's story, because it was one of the requests. I like to have more autonomy in a fest than that :p.

I'm gonna have to basically ignore most of the structure of the form to give out any useful information if I do sign up. Oh, and I always get a little grumpy when I have to replace "fic" with "art" more than once in a form, but that's just me being a prima-donna grumpy artiste (in a fic-centric world, ~sobs~).

Talk me out of my tab-closing huff.

    Two teenyfics.
Drabble. [info]snegurochka_lee suggested doing something with pairings we hate. I don't think I actually have any of those, but I dislike Hagrid, and chan below a certain age squicks me, so I did Hagrid/Draco. Except I shot myself in the foot by giving Draco so much nous that I took out the element that usually squicks me the most about young chan. Sigh. The idea of this challenge is too fun to avoid, though. It's just so sodding hard to think of things I dislike! As soon as I'd conceived of this, it became okay. Maybe I could do fluffy mpreg and a wedding, then. Icktastic :).

    Whee, it's fest-season again!
I have signed up for two in the past week, and got my Toujours Pur assignment too :).

I am leaping on the HP Dark Fest that [info]melusinahp is running, and I must also post the picture she commissioned from me. I've barely been home for the past few days! I shall do it tomorrow. Dark Fest looks AWESOME, and I picked "Childhood" as my one-word prompt. I may well do something utterly gen. Because when the focus is "dark"? Gen is TOTALLY viable. Yays!

I also just failed willpower and signed up to the HP Yule Balls fest, because it wasn't pairing centric, and I'm only doing one pairing-fest this time round (HD Hols - though probably also the Snarry Games, but the instincts that sparks in me are different from those that are pulled out by gift exchanges).

I've asked for Teddy/James Jr, H/D, James Sr/Sirius (or any other arrangement of the MWPPs - though I felt I had to mention Peter by name, as people keep forgetting what the "W" stands for), Bella/Luna, Fleur/Luna. I honestly don't know which set I'd prefer to get, because I rather love the idea of Fleur and Luna (with Bill not ignored) at Shell Cottage, and Bella/Luna at Malfoy Manor with the Malfoys as the supporting cast - the possibility of black comedy in that last one cannot be denied :). But, Teddy/James Jr is so fucking tasty, and HD always gets me if it's well done, and the Marauder-era stuff has SO MANY COMPLICATIONS OMG. Fingers crossed that I've written enough - it took two comments! - that a writer or artist will have enough to work with. Writing out the sign-up entry always gets me buzzed about a fest :).

Pictures to which I've failed to link recently (both are NWS):

Daily Deviant, posted last night after I remembered right as I was about to go to bed: Fantasy, with Weasley Twins (nekkid) and Filch (not nekkid, but cock is out). It's for the flagellation theme, and there are manacles, so wotchit, yeah?

Hump-Day-Smut from last week with the theme of transfiguration, The Comfy Chair, Padma and Chair!Slughorn. Plus scrummy pictures from Other People.

Lavender pic, sorta? And a rec. ASLKDJF, a rec.
Feel the wild confidence with which I infuse the first half of my subject line. FEEL IT.

So, okay, today I read [info]snegurochka_lee's wildly brilliant Lava Girl and the Ink Drop. It's werewolves, and a wicked story, and smut that's, oh, to die for. It's a rarepair: Bill/Lavender, and some others along the way. And, o-flist-members-with-shipper-tendencies, I suggest you read it anyway. I mean, c'mon. Would you go to a library and only get out books about Slughorn/Aberforth? It's an awesome story, peopled with a;lskdfdf characters. It's about 35K long, in four parts, and worth every second you spend on it.

Rough, angry, brutal and brilliant, COME AND HAVE A GO IF YOU THINK YOU'RE HARD ENOUGH:

    http://asylums.insanejournal.com/daily_deviant/141852.html

Anyway. I fell in love with a certain someone in the story, and made an (um, fairly sad) attempt to grab some of her in a picture. I may have to try again. And again. Fuck, she's wild and furious and I ♥ her. Even though I made her nose too long. I was mostly concentrating on the eyes, and trying not to lose the movement by overworking it, and yeah, the shapes in the background are kinda relevant, though still pretty loose, and um. Drawble, here you go!

    Couple of links I liked
The title of this post is original, ne? I found a couple of things on Fleshbot that seemed worth linking to.

Ten Commandments of Smut - I mean, okay, I'd be inclined to give a bit more leeway on some of these than the blogger - I may have only had the occasional simultaneous orgasm with a partner, but I don't think rarity makes them a myth. And, y'know, it's hot when your partner comes, and that can be the tipping point, soooo... yeah. But, anyway. Nice article.

Conversations with god - hell, I don't know if this one's a story or an anecdote, but I rather liked it.

“Yeah,” he nods. “It’s like I’m God. But I’m old. Look at this guy!” He slaps the unsuspecting young man next to him on the shoulder. “He’s young, he’s got that curly hair and look at his big eyelashes! And muscles! This dude has it going on! You should be fucking with him, not an old man like me!”

“You’ve got it going on right now, babe,” I lean in all close. Is he hitting on this kid? Am I seriously losing God’s attention to another man? My cleavage draws him back in. God might be insecure and bisexual, but he’s not gay.

I wonder if the rain will slacken enough that I'll actually go out today? Is the lure of a coffee with a lovelyfriend stronger than the repulsion of heavy rain on a 60-degree angle?

Also, I've got my assignment for Live Long and Marry, and the draft has been approved, and yay :). It's one I'm going to enjoy doing! No smut at all, though. Just so's you know.

Ooh, and don't forget about Live Long and Marry! It's nearly all over red rover, and bidders would be wise to keep an eye on their bids to make sure someone hasn't pipped them by replying to a comment someone else made :). Mine's up to rather more than I'd expected!

    Flower fairies and flu
This picture is not actually my fault. I swear. I'm going to blame Lee, because I can. Ahahah.

    Cocksucking flower fairies )

The beautifully alliterative header refers also to the Death Flu of Evil that seems to be this Winter's complaint. I haven't had flu this obnoxious before. Usually, it'll wipe me out for a day and leave me all snuffly and headachey etc for a few days either side of that. This one's fucked me up for five days so far, requiring massive amounts of sleep, more flu meds than I've ever had to experiment with, and a bastard bastard cough that's taken up residence in my lungs. I think it's picking out curtains. Plus, it seems to have made me temporarily lactose intolerant or something. Tea! That precious haven, nirvana in a cup, a sweetened and milky delight... no. Bastard flu wrests my favourite comfort from me and turns it nauseating. GRARGH GRARGH GHRAKLJDF.

    ~whingey whiney whine~

Nice things today, though: [info]lupin_snape fantasy fest prompts are up, and I did end up suggesting prompts (ONE OF WHICH HAS BEEN CLAIMED AHAHAHAHA YAY YAY YAY) and grabbing one myself.

[info]the_minx_17 wrote Charlie/Draco with a side of voyeuristic Harry. Can we say om nom nom? Yes. Yes we can :). Apparently there will be more of these lads to come, which fills me with cheer :D. She's done an awesome job of writing it with me in mind, I reckon, because it's scrumptiously laddish - there's not a hint of girlish behaviour with these boys. 500 words of scrummy exhibitionism pr0nz about getting off - go check it out and leave her a comment :).

    Daily Deviant post for June
Castration! No, no, come back! No-one's bleeding, I promise! Though, omigod, I had some very meepish moments during the Google image search I did for reference. I wanted to know if there was usually a loose scrotum left, or if the spare skin was removed, etc. And I found some Very Unfortunate Pictures. I was okay with the surgical looking stuff, but the lad who just had his balls tied off and sliced straight... well. I hope he didn't die of anything horrible after that.

But, yeah. Slightly loose skin seemed to be the norm with a removing-the-testicles approach.

It's Narcissa and Lucius, with a long rambling A/N attached. It's R, and NWS, and the colouring's, um, very purple :).

And this is Narcissa, who found it impossible not to continue what the Dark Lord had begun.

Molly, mostly sans kit - NWS picture
Or rather a link to one. The [info]hump_day_smut feed has stopped working on IJ! This means that I tend to fail to see the pictures when they're first posted. It was only by chance that I checked my LJ filter a couple of minutes ago - I'm not often logged in and, well, am forgetful.

    Who: Molly
    Title: To Arthur, with love
    Warnings etc: none.
    Rating: M for Mammaries.

    Pinups theme! Definitely NWS

I took some inspiration from vintage erotica and drew a young Molly Prewett (er. Prewitt? I never remember) posing for a picture for Arthur :). She's a bit roundy and very sweet. I haven't had a look through yet, but the list of images is long and impressive, so go, ogle! Hurray :).

Chucking my hat into the pot
    And other mixed metaphors?

But, anyway, I'm another one jumping on the rather excellent-seeming bandwagon of the Live Long and Marry charity thingie. Mine is here:
    http://community.livejournal.com/livelongnmarry/24284.html

Information about it all is here, but in short, it's doing this:

The auction will raise money for the fight against the California initiative which will legally destroy existing same-sex marriages and ban any further ones. If the initiative passes, it will write discrimination into the state constitution, annul existing marriages, and make Mr. Sulu cry.

And who doesn't like George Takei? The man is cool :). Shoulda been the Spock and Sulu show, c'mon...

PS: despite what the other bits on the info page imply, fanart is good, cos it's mentioned in the tags :). Wondered for a while if they didn't actually want it, but it seems to be okay.

Malfoycest, NC-17ish, This is my blood
This is very confusing. I'm supposed to post this on the [info]malfoycest_day asylum, but although I'm a member, I don't appear to have posting access? The only thing under "m" in my "post to" drop-down-box is[info]malfoycentric.

So, with apologies to [info]stonegrad, I'm posting it here.

    Title: This is my blood
    Artist: [info]ships_harry
    Pairing: Lucius/Draco
    Rating: NC-17 for semen, I guess :)
Warnings: incest :p, misuse of Christian imagery, apologies to Michelangelo
    Prompt: none.
Summary: Nothing complicated about this image.
Notes: Okay, except the notes :p.

    Fun facts about this picture:

It's based on Michelangelo's most famous pieta, the one with Mary holding a dead adult Jesus. Because the proportions are off in the original (with various interesting interpretations as to why), it was easy to grab the basic outlines, make the prone figure a bit more delicate, get rid of most of the drapery, and have Lucius holding Draco. Ages ago, [info]nehalenia suggested it was eminently pervertable... and so I admit to a bit of embarrassment that I've used it for cross-gen incest, combining two of her least favourite things. At least there's no mpreg! ~hides~

The pattern involves pomegranates, a fairly popular fruit as far as Renaissance art goes, and since the sculpture is from that period, that's what I used. LOADS of use in religious art with Mary and Jesus, apparently. There's some speculation that the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge was a pomegranate, not an apple, so it's all tied up with sin and self-knowledge and shame... yay :). Though technically, the symbology of it has more to do with righteousness and good things. We'll draw a discreet veil over the actual meaning, and gleefully grasp the potential associations instead :).
